May their vocations inspire others to answer the call! Today is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Let us pray that more may respond to God’s call to service through the priesthood, diaconate, religious orders, marriage, and lay ministry.
A Prayer for Vocations
Gracious God and Shepherd of us all, through the Holy Spirit, bless me with the gift of courage to respond to your call. Open my heart to great ideals, to great things. Inspire me, your disciple, to loving and giving — so that I may use the gifts you’ve given me to live the dream you
have for my life. Instill within me a bold and noble path of a life — that I live it well, whether it be in the single life, married life, the diaconate, the priesthood or the consecrated life. Unite me to Jesus through prayer and sacrament, so that I may cooperate with you in building
your reign of mercy, truth, justice and peace. Amen.
