Cherub Choir

The Queen of Apostles Cherub Choir opens the world of music to our youngest parishioners.  This choir is open to children in grades 1 –3.  Its primary focus is to develop skills these young musicians will need for a lifetime of singing.  Emphasis is placed on good singing technique.  The children are introduced to solfege and rhythm based on the Kodaly method.

Rehearsal –  Mondays, 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. in Holy Family Hall

Mass – 1^st and 3^rd Sundays of the month at 9:00.  Warm up 9:00 am

Chorister Choir

Queen of Apostles offers a unique opportunity for children to develop their musical talent, the Queen of Apostles Choristers.  This group of young singers, drawn mainly from Queen of Angels School, grades four through eight, is committed to learning and performing the finest liturgical choral music available for treble voices.  Choristers study music from composers such as J. S. Bach, Wolfgang Mozart, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.  In addition, all choristers will receive the benefit of musical training based on the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) training scheme.  The RSCM program is designed especially for young singers.  It provides a modular approach to developing both the singing voice and general musical skills.

Rehearsals – Tuesdays from 3:15 – 4:30 pm, Wednesdays from 3:15 – 4:30 with option of 6:00 – 7:00 pm upon request

Mass – 2^nd and 4^th Sundays of the month at 9:00.  Warm up at 9:00 am.

St. Matthias School Children’s Choir

This group of young singers, drawn from St. Matthias School, sings for St. Matthias School Masses on Fridays during the school year and at Community Family Masses once a month on Sundays at 8:00 am in St. Matthias Church.

Rehearsals – Tuesdays after school in St. Matthias Church

Mass – as scheduled, usually the 2nd Sunday of the month at 8:00 am

St. Cecilia Singers

The St. Cecilia Singers are a group of teenage and adult volunteers that rehearse and sing for Mass from October through May.  Repertoire includes a broad range of music from chant to contemporary liturgical music.

Rehearsal – Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in Holy Family Hall

Mass – 9:00 and/or 11:00 Masses – October through May

Spanish Choir (Coro Hispano)

The Queen of Apostles Spanish Choir provides the musical leadership for the 12:30 pm Spanish Mass throughout the year.

Rehearsal – Sundays at 11:30 am in Holy Family Hall

Mass – 12:30 pm
