Inviting to Alpha

Alpha does not ask for a long-term commitment. Each participant is asked each week if they will attend the following week — for an accurate food count, not to make anyone feel pressured to commit to the full series or return again if they feel Alpha is not for them.

Alpha Film Series

Over the course of 11 weeks and a weekend “day away,” Alpha participants are given the opportunity to watch a series of fascinating videos that present the truths of the Christian faith in an accessible and personal way.

Grief Ministry

Volunteers are still needed to join the Queen of Apostles Grief Ministry. Training to be a grief minister begins Monday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the Parish Center (4412 N Western Avenue) in Conference Room 3.  Additional training sessions will run every Monday through the month of August.  If you are interested in joining the grief ministry team, please contact Deacon Dennis at ramosD60@outlook.com.

Missionary Cooperation Plan

We will soon be hosting a missionary visitor! The summer Missionary Cooperation Plan is an opportunity for our parish to learn about, support and be inspired by the work of missionaries ministering in another part of the world. We are pleased to receive a visit from Fr. Michael Mugomba of the Pontifical Mission Societies of Uganda to promote missionary awareness in particular Churches, so that the faithful may personally be involved in the missionary activities ‘Ad gentes’ (Mk; 16:15-16) and be committed to cooperate in the universal missionary activity of the Church. This visit will take place the weekend of July 27-28, 2024. Please pray for missionaries worldwide who empower local leaders to form and nourish communities of faith where the Church is young, struggling, or economically strained. If you are able, place a donation to support this mission cause in the second collection basket. Please make checks out to the parish. Or you can make a donation online here.

¡Pronto seremos anfitriones de un visitante misionero! El Plan de Cooperación Misionera del verano es una oportunidad para que nuestra parroquia aprenda, apoye y sea inspirada por el trabajo de los misioneros trabajando en otra parte del mundo. Nos complace recibir la visita del P. Michael Mugomba, de las Obras Misionales Pontificias de Uganda, para promover la conciencia misionera en las Iglesias particulares, para que los fieles puedan participar personalmente en las actividades misioneras Ad gentes (Mc; 16, 15-16) y comprometerse a cooperar
en la actividad misionera universal de la Iglesia. Esta visita se llevara acabo el 27-28 de julio, 2024. Por favor oren por los misioneros en todo el mundo que empoderan a los líderes locales para formar y nutrir comunidades de fe en donde la Iglesia es joven, con dificultades o con presión económica. Si pueden, coloquen una donación para apoyar esta causa misionera en la cesta de la segunda colecta. Por favor hagan los cheques a nombre de la parroquia.
