SVDP Thanksgiving Food Drive

This Thanksgiving, please give to your neighbors who need help to feed their families. They need: Toothbrushes and toothpaste, toiletries, paper products, canned tuna, canned tomatoes, rice and pasta, dried fruit, breakfast cereal, canned milk, dried beans, and cooking oil. No glass jars or bottles, please! You may bring your gift for the poor to the church through Friday, November 22nd. Checks placed in the Poor Box at the top of the main stairs or St. Vincent de Paul Donations made via Give Central will be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and to provide for families who need our help. Food will be distributed by appointment on Saturday, November 23rd. Please call 773-539-7510 if you know someone in need of food

Este Día de Acción de Gracias, por favor done a sus vecinos que necesitan ayuda para alimentar a sus familias. Necesitan: cepillos de dientes y pasta de dientes, artículos de tocador, productos de papel, atún enlatado, tomates enlatados, arroz y pasta, frutas secas, cereales para el desayuno, leche enlatada, frijoles secos y aceite de cocina. ¡Nada de frascos o botellas de vidrio, por favor! Puede traer su ofrenda para los pobres a la iglesia hasta el viernes 22 de noviembre. Los cheques colocados en la Caja de Pobres en la parte superior de las escaleras principales o en San Vicente de Paúl, las donaciones realizadas a través de Give Central se utilizarán para comprar frutas y verduras frescas y para mantener a las familias que necesitan nuestra ayuda. Los alimentos se distribuirán con cita previa el sábado 23 de noviembre. Llame al 773-539-7510 si conoce a alguien que necesite alimentos.

Please support the second collection in your parish on November 16 – 17. Funds raised will provide support to local organizations across the Chicagoland area.

Olive Wood Crafts Sale

We will host representatives of the Catholic Christian Community from Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the Holy Land who will be displaying handcrafted olive wood religious figurines and articles. The woodcarvings are beautiful and reflect faith and love for the Lord. Please consider purchasing a gift that will be remembered and cherished for yourself or someone dear to you. The handcrafted olive wood figurines and articles will be available for purchase the weekend of November 16 & 17 after all the Masses.

Men’s Club Upcoming Events

Join the Men’s Club for the following upcoming events:

  • Open Gym – Queen of Angels Open Gym for families to be held Saturday October 26 from 6-8pm at the gym and the adjoining Mission Hall.
  • Bags Knight – 4th Annual Bags Knight will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 in Mission Hall and the gym starting at 6pm. All skill levels are welcome! Players 7th grade and up are invited to participate in the tournament. No babysitters needed, families welcome! We will have open gym for the kids and a “Littlest Knights” area for our youngest guests. Please RSVP to Joe Wyss wyss.joe@gmail.com or Leroyd Manuel lmanuel81@gmail.com.
  • Men’s Club Meeting – Men’s Club meets the second Thursday of each month at the Queen of Apostles Parish Center, 4412 N Western Avenue, in Mission Hall at 8:00 p.m.
  • Queen of Apostles Parish Golf Outing – Returning next summer on July 26, 2025. More information to come.

  • Gimnasio Abierto –  Queen of Angels Gimnasio abierto para familias se llevará a cabo el sábado 26 de octubre a partir de las 6-8 p.m. en el gimnasio y el Salón de la Misión contiguo.
  • Bags Knight – La 4ª edición anual de Bags Knight se llevará a cabo el viernes 15 de noviembre de 2024 en Mission Hall y en el gimnasio a partir de las 6 p.m. ¡Todos los niveles de habilidad son bienvenidos! Los jugadores de 7º grado en adelante están invitados a participar en el torneo. No se necesitan niñeras, ¡las familias son bienvenidas! Tendremos un gimnasio abierto para los niños y un área de “Littlest Knights” para nuestros huéspedes más pequeños.
