The Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago 2021 Lenten Retreat, Finding Christ in the Crisis, will be held virtually on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The retreat is open to Catholic lawyers, young Catholic professionals, and all others who are interested.  For more information see the CLG web site.

Our Lady of Lourdes Benefit Concert

What: Awakening Concert benefiting the Our Lady of Lourdes Soup Kitchen
When: Friday, February 12, 2021 at 7:00 pm CST
“AWAKENING” happens when passion meets purpose. 
On Friday, Feb 12, 2021 at 7 p.m. our AWAKENING  Concert will combine music and imagery for the purpose of supporting our Soup Kitchen of Our Lady of Lourdes parish. The concert will feature a World Premiere of a Latin orchestral piece written by Julian Molina Abad and conducted by Sam Sharp. We will also be gifted by the Gospel Choir of St. Agatha parish as well as our own soloist Jennifer Carlin.
Fr. Michael Shanahan and Johanna Ortegon will present a variation of the Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto on two pianos. This virtual concert will be testimony to the power that is created when passion unites with purpose. Our ultimate sense of purpose and passion comes from Christ.
Thank God for the faith that leads us forward.

 The sun will be setting on 2020 and a new year, full of hope, is on the horizon. As you shout your hoorays for the expectations of good things to come in 2021, please also take a moment to reflect on the new found strength and positivity that has come from persevering in a very challenging year.  

At Queen of Angels School, we are counting our blessings. One such blessing is that we have a wonderful new principal who has dedicated herself to the safety of our teachers and students, while keeping the school’s doors open for the option of in-person learning. In addition, our school has developed methods to successfully deliver diverse curricula to our in-person and virtual learners, inclusive of technology, music, and art in the form of social-emotional learning strategies. 

Our technology resources have helped students learn new ways to be organized and keep open the lines of communication with our virtual learners. Further, music and art have provided our students a valuable outlet to express their emotions as they continue to adapt to a new reality. 

 Thank you to our Annual Fund donors whose contributions have helped drive many of the advancements at our school. As we turn to 2021, however, the challenges of 2020 will linger and therefore, your financial support is needed more than ever to continue writing our success story.
