Novena Prayers
Daily Prayer for the Ninth Day
Today Bring To Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM
Most Compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure Love let these tepid souls, who like corpses – filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your Love and bestow on them the gift of Holy Love, for nothing is beyond Your power.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon these lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross, let them also glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.
Chaplet of the Divine Mercy (prayed on Rosary beads)
Opening Prayers
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
O Blood and water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I Trust in You!
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
For each of the five decades
(on the “Our Father” bead before each decade)
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
(on each of the 10 “Hail Mary” beads of each decade)
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Concluding prayers after the fifth decade
(repeat 3 times) Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Eternal God, in Whose mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion is inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will which is Love and Mercy itself.
(repeat 3 times) Jesus, I Trust in You!
Holy Rosary
Prayer of Petition
O Glorious Mother of God,
Queen of the most Holy Rosary,
we beseech you to accept these Rosary Prayers
which, as a crown of roses,
we now lay at your feet.
As we offer these prayers, most gracious lady,
we earnestly ask you to intercede for us with your Divine Son
so that we may be granted the favors
which we earnestly seek through your powerful intercession. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed
(on the cross pendant, pray) I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father (on the first bead)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary (on the three beads, for an increase in Faith, Hope and Charity)
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
(after the triad of 3 beads together)
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven especially those who are in most need of Your mercy. Amen.

O samong Patrona, kami simong ampona

First Joyful Mystery – The Annunciation
The Angel said to Mary, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” And Mary responded, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; let this be done according to Your word” (Luke 1:28, 38)
Let us contemplate in this mystery how the angel Gabriel saluted our Blessed Lady and declared to her the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
O Holy Mary, Queen of Virgins,
through the most high mystery of the Incarnation of your beloved Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ,
by which our salvation was so happily begun,
obtain for us the light
to understand the benefits He has bestowed
in vouchsafing to become our Brother
and in giving us, through John, to you,
His own most beloved Mother
to be our Mother also, now and forever. Amen.
(on the bead before the medal)

Fatima Prayer

Simo minadalaw, sa simong kapiyestahan.
Second Joyful Mystery – The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin
Elizabeth told Mary, “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1:42).
Let us contemplate in this mystery how the Blessed Virgin Mary, understanding from the angel that her cousin Elizabeth had conceived, went with haste into the mountains of Judea to visit her and remained with her for three months.
O Holy Virgin, most spotless mirror of humility, by the exceeding charity which moved you to visit your holy cousin Elizabeth, obtain for us true faith so that our hearts may be spiritually nourished by your most Holy Son and that, being purified from sin, we may praise and bless Him forever. Amen.

Third Joyful Mystery – The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ
Mary gave birth to her First Born and “wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger” (Luke 2:7).
Let us contemplate in this mystery how the Blessed Virgin Mary, when the time of her delivery had come, brought forth our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, at midnight and laid him in a manger because there was no room for him in the inn at Bethlehem.
O most pure and holy Mother of God, by your exceeding happiness in being chosen to give birth to the Savior of the world we beseech you to obtain for us the grace to lead pure and holy lives that we may thereafter eternally sing the mercies of your Son and merit the benefits to us through your gracious intercession. Amen.

Fourth Joyful Mystery – The Presentation in the Temple
When the time for the purification came, Mary and Joseph brought Jesus up to Jerusalem to offer Him to the Lord (Luke 2:22).
Let us contemplate in this mystery how the Blessed Virgin Mary, on the day of her purification, presented the Child Jesus in the temple, where the Holy Simeon, giving thanks to God, received him wtih great devotion into his arms.
O Holy Virgin, most admirable Lady and example of obedience, who did present in the temple the Lord of that Temple, obtain for us the desire that with the holy Simeon and devout Anna we may praise and glorify Him forever. Amen.

Fifth Joyful Mystery – The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple
After three days Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions (Luke 2:46).
Let us contemplate in this mystery how the Blessed Virgin Mary, having lost her Son in Jerusalem, sought Him for three days, and at length found him in the temple on the fourth day, amidst the elders and prophets, discussing with them, being only twelve years old.
O Most Blessed Virgin, more than any martyr in your sufferings, yet the sole comfort of the afflicted, by the unspeakable joy which filled your soul in finding your beloved Son in the Temple discussing with the elders and prophets, obtain for us the perseverance so that we may effectually seek and find Him never to be separated from Him. Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this, our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: O God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of Eternal Life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
O glorious Mother of God,
Queen of the most Holy Rosary,
we kneel in gratitude before you
to offer in thanksgiving these Rosary prayers
which we laid at your feet tonight.

and powerful protection. Amen.

(3 times)

Mary Most Holy,

in reverence and in honor of the five letters
that make up thy most sweet name, Maria.

and with which I hope to bless you
in heaven for all eternity. Amen.

Virgin of Penafrancia, pray for us.
CONCLUDING PRAYERS FOR THE NINTH DAY
O most lovable Queen and Mother Mary
whose most sweet name gladdens the heart
and consoles the soul in all tribulations;
I humbly beseech thee, O Virgin of Penafrancia,
to instill among us
who venerate thy sacred name which means “hope”
this most important theological virtue
with which we may strengthen our spirit
amidst the innumerable perils in which we live.
As strangers in this vale of tears
and still deprived of the clear vision of our God and Creator and confiding in the power of our Lord
for whom nothing is impossible in this life,
we hope to refrain the impulses of our passions
and tread peacefully the path that leads to eternal life,
that thus through piety and devotion,
we may all attain, after conquering our enemies,
the beatitude for which we were created
and wherein we shall live eternally grateful to thee
for thine all powerful intercession. Amen.
Virgin of Penafrancia, pray for us.
PRAYER
Holy Mary, help of the unfortunate,

both the living and the departed,
especially for those whom I am most obliged to help.
Pray for me, console me, and save me.
In the hours of peril, adversity and affliction,
above all, in the hour of my death,
appear before your divine Son to help me and defend me.
Tell Him that I am your devotee.
Having complete trust in your protection,
I kneel before thy miraculous image
to ask for your powerful intercession.
Virgin of Penafrancia, pray for me,
