Dear Family of Queen of Apostles,
Holy Week Greetings. I am looking forward to celebrating with you the Triduum and celebrating Easter Sunday Morning Mass. This is my favorite Church week of the year.
I want to tell you all that I am retiring after just about 44 years as a priest. I love being a priest, and I have so enjoyed my life as a priest. I have enjoyed my time here with you, and you have helped me grow as a priest. I thank Fr. Jim for all his support of me and our parish over these past few years. I thank him also for advocating for me and graciously inviting me to stay on for a few extra months after our merger to be here with you. I am so grateful for the extra time to be here with you while the Cardinal and Vicar for Priests helped me to discern my next position.
To our St. Matthias Parishioners I am glad through your generosity we were able to paint the interior of the Church to help us to celebrate the Sacraments of our Church. Yes, the last months have been at times painful and sad for us, but let us join now with Queen of Angels and be one with them now known as Queen of Apostles.
And to Queen of Angels Parishioners, thank you for your friendly welcome each and every Sunday Morning.
I will be moving to the Bishop Lyne Retirement Home in Palos Park in April. The room I have been assigned to is not ready for occupancy yet.
I will be back in the summer hopefully after the Covid 19 is mostly over to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for my wonderful time here.
Please know that you will continue to be in my daily Prayers.
I thank you so very much for your priestly support in my time here. I so appreciate it.
As my Grandmother used to say, “God loves” and He does. And I love you, too.
GOD’S BLESSINGS!
Fr. Larry
